Brigadeiro (traditional Brazilian sweets)

Eating is good, right? IT’s pleasant and it makes us feel comforted and happy.
The kinds of food  that makes us feel comforted are especially the sweet foods! Desserts!! Hummm Yummy!

I like cakes, muffins, cupcakes, flans, creamy sweets... yummy yummu yuuuuummy!!!
I’ve had  to change the milk and its dairy products because I’ve developed allergy to milk, the protein to be more exact!
But lucky me I’ve had the chance to taste the recipe below before I discovered my health issue.
The name of this sweet is BRIGADEIRO. It’s very traditional in Brazil and it’s parto f every birthday party you can imagine! From kids parties to adults parties this sweet makes the happiness of all guests! It was part of my childhood so it brings me some emotional  moments I had when I was a kid.
My mom used to make it and I used to help her. Kids can be good helpers making brigadeiro. Just make sure they don’t eat everything before it’s served to people J
Let’s go to the recipe? It’s very easy, simple, delicious and memory maker!

Brigadeiro ingredients:

1 can of condensed milk

½ can of milk

1 Tbsp of butter

3 Tbsp of unsweetened chocolate poder

2 cups of tea of chocolate sprinkles

How to prepare:

  1. With a cooking brush, brush a plate with a little bit of butter. Reserve it.
  2. In a pan, mixture the milk and the chocolate poder. In low heat stir it well until the chocolate dissolves
  3. Add the condensed milk, the butter and when it boils, keep stiring it for approximatelly 15 minutes or until you can see the bottom of the pan. Turn off the heat and put the mixture in the plate brushed with butter. Let it cool.
  4. In a bowl, put the chocolate sprinkles and leave it beside the plate with the mixture.
  5. After it cools down, put some butter in your hands and with a teaspoon put some mixture in yor hand and make little balls of approximately 2,5 cm. Put the little chocolate balls in the bowl with the chocolate sprinkles and put it in a beautiful plate or in small paper liners and serve it.

With one recipe you will be able to make approximately 30 brigadeiros.

Oh!!! I have a tip! If you’re not making it for a party or for your guests and it’s just for yourself... you can eat it without making little balls.

Just grab the bowl and enjoy it!!

But don’t eat it all at once!! We cannot forget that it’s very high in calories because of the condensed milk!

Hope you like it!!!

Bisous!
